12th UAE International Orthopedic Congress Commences in Abu Dhabi.


Abu Dhabi: The Emirates Orthopedic Division of the Emirates Medical Association has announced the commencement of the 12th UAE International Orthopedic Congress in Abu Dhabi. The event is set to host over 800 consultants, doctors, nurses, and technicians from the UAE, the Middle East, and other parts of the world. Additionally, more than 15 leading companies in the manufacturing of slats, supports, external fixatives, and medical devices are participating.

According to Emirates News Agency, Dr. Ali Al Suwaidi, Consultant Orthopedic Surgeon and Chairman of the Conference, emphasized that this global gathering aims to elevate Abu Dhabi’s status as a regional and global medical treatment hub. The focus is on developing medical cadres and fostering an environment conducive to experts and specialists. This initiative is part of efforts to enhance health services for various segments of society, facilitate conferences and seminars, and attract top medical professionals, thereby positioning Abu Dhabi as a key cente
r for organizing conferences and exchanging expertise and ideas for superior health services.

Dr. Al Suwaidi further elaborated that the conference will feature 70 regional and international lecturers from 14 countries, including Europe, Australia, India, and the Middle East. The scientific program includes 90 lectures spread over three days, alongside workshops and seminars targeting the industrial sector.

Dr. Ali Al Balushi, Consultant Orthopedic Surgeon and Vice President of the Conference, highlighted the main topics of discussion at this year’s conference. These include the elbow, hand and nerve, advancements in orthopedics, upper limb and spine, pelvic and lower limb surgery, pediatric orthopedics, knee arthroplasty, and pain management in orthopedics – cartilage and meniscus, as well as the role of biology in orthopedics.

He noted that the conference, organized by Info Plus with support from the Department of Culture and Tourism, the Department of Health in Abu Dhabi, the Ministry of Health and Prev
ention, the Dubai Health Authority, and the Emirates Health Services Corporation, will span three days. It includes 15 scientific sessions, 90 lectures, 54 scientific research presentations, and a session for the industrial sector, with participation from 15 international companies known for producing chips, supports, external fixators, medical devices related to bone diseases, and pharmaceutical companies.
