Washington: The draw for the 2026 FIFA World Cup is set to occur at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., on December 5 at noon ET. This significant event will determine the group stage opponents for all 48 qualified teams participating in the tournament.According to Emirates News Agency, US President Donald Trump, alongside FIFA President Gianni Infantino, announced that the Kennedy Center would host the draw. President Trump remarked on the event's significance, highlighting that the Kennedy Center would provide a fitting start to the tournament, with his administration being actively involved.During the draw, the expanded format of the 2026 World Cup, which features 48 teams, will be highlighted. Hosts Mexico, Canada, and the United States will be automatically placed into Groups A1, B1, and D1, respectively. By the time the draw takes place, 42 of the 48 spots will be filled, with the remaining six to be determined through FIFA's intercontinental play-off tournament scheduled for March 2026.
