50 Migrants Killed on Journey Through Desert between Niger and Libya

At least 50 migrants, hailing from different African countries, on a journey through the desert on the border between Niger and Libya, died as a result of water shortages and high temperatures.According to media sources, humanitarian organizations found the bodies of migrants in various areas of the desert, while they were able to rescue 200 other migrants.The Agadez region, located on the borders with Libya and Algeria north of Niger, is a dangerous crossing gateway for migrants seeking to reach Europe.The region is experiencing extremely harsh conditions, as it is exposed to a sharp rise in temperatures and a shortage of water, which puts the lives of migrants at risk.Source: Qatar News Agency
