6.7-Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Mindanao Island in Philippines

The German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ) said that a 6.7-magnitude earthquake struck the island of Mindanao in the Philippines Thursday.The centre explained that the earthquake occurred at a depth of 630 km.The Philippines is witnessing increasing volcanic and seismic activity due to its location on the "Ring of Fire" in the Pacific Ocean, where tectonic plates intersect.Source: Qatar News Agency
