Palestinian President Calls on International Community to Address Israeli Violations of His Country’s Sanctities

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas called on the international community to address the Israeli occupation practices against the Palestinians and their lands and sanctities, calling for holding the occupation accountable for all its crimes in accordance with international laws.

In statements following a session of talks he held with his Cypriot counterpart Nikos Christodoulides in Ramallah, Abbas stated that the occupation forces and settlers are rushing to destroy the foundations on which the political process was built, describing the current Israeli government as extremist that practices persecution, racism, land theft and violation of sanctities.

He called on the international community to take a serious stand in order to stop the behavior of the Israeli entity as a racist state above the law, in order to achieve security and peace for all in the region and the world.

In turn, President Christodoulides affirmed his keenness to strengthen the bilateral relationship between the two countries, stressing his country's position in support of peace on the basis of the two-state solution and the establishment of a Palestinian state on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

The two sides held a session of talks that dealt with strengthening bilateral relations and the latest developments in the Palestinian Cause, and the practices of the extremist Israeli government to destroy the remaining hopes for achieving peace and stability in the region. (QNA)
