Parliament, in its session today, Wednesday, chaired by Speaker Yahya Ali Al-Ra’i, listened to the responses and clarifications of the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs and Minister of Finance, Dr. Rashid Abu Lahoum, to Parliament member Dr. Ali Al-Zanam’s inquiries about the inclusion of the local water and wastewater corporation in the Ministry of Finance, which he denied in the context of his response.
With regard to his response to the question of Council member Ahmed Hashed, about the Ministry of Finance suspending the accounts of economic units with the Central Bank in Sana’a, in what is called the decision to network the economic units in the Ministry of Finance, Dr. Abu Lahoum denied taking this action.
While the council member requested the presence of the heads of units the economic target of the decision to clarify the legal and economic position of the units of these decisions and the consequences of that.
The Council also listened to the Minister of Electricity's response to Council member Ali Balaa's questions about the decision to set electricity pricing in the private sector, although it was not adhered to in Al-Duha district of Hodeida province, where the minister confirmed the violations had been referred to the Public Prosecution.
In the context of his response to Ahmed Hashed's question about the Ministry of Electricity's disregard of the request submitted by the "Namariq" investment company, including offers and prices that take into account the conditions of the Yemeni citizen, Dr. Al-Bukhaiti clarified the circumstances and reasons for not deciding on the request, and handed a file of responses and clarifications to the Chairman of the Council.
The Council approved referring the responses submitted by the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs and the Minister of Electricity , Energy to the Financial Affairs , Services Committees for study and to provide the Council with the results.
