The President of the Republic, Abd al-Latif Jamal Rashid, stressed the importance of coordination and cooperation with Syria in the field of combating terrorism and issues of common interest in a way that serves the interests of the two countries and peoples.
A presidential statement stated that the President of the Republic received, today, Thursday, at the Baghdad Palace, the Syrian Ambassador, Sattam Jadaan al-Dandah, who conveyed to him the greetings of President Bashar al-Assad, while Rashid entrusted the ambassador with his greetings to President al-Assad and his wishes to the brotherly Syrian people for continued stability, security and prosperity.
The President of the Republic indicated, according to the statement, the importance of coordination and cooperation in the field of combating terrorism and issues of common interest in a way that serves the interests of the two countries and peoples and enhances security and stability in the region.
In turn, the Syrian ambassador affirmed his country's keenness to expand the horizons of constructive bilateral cooperation with Iraq in order to achieve the aspirations of the two brotherly peoples for stability, progress and prosperity.
