The General Administration of Agricultural Marketing and Trade at the Ministry of Agricultural Marketing and Services Sector of the Yemeni Economic Corporation organized a ceremony honoring agents farmers and local garlic merchants for the success of the garlic production season and some other crops for the year 1444 AH.
At the ceremony, a member of the Supreme Political Council, Mohammed Saleh Al-Nuaimi, pointed out the importance of honoring to motivate farmers to continue their efforts to expand the cultivation of garlic and other local products, to achieve food security and reach self-sufficiency.
He stressed the importance of activating the role of the agricultural sector to launch with strength, will, determination and persistence in expanding the agricultural area for various products by benefiting from the cultural heritage of the Yemeni people linked to the capabilities of the Yemeni farmer and his creativity in the agricultural terraces that adorned the mountains of Yemen.
Al-Nuaimi urged to mobilize the will of the Yemeni people to produce it, return those terraces to their agricultural path, activate their role in enhancing production and achieving self-sufficiency.
He also stressed the keenness of the Supreme Political Council to support farmers and support their efforts to advance the agricultural sector, indicating that 30 items of agricultural products have been identified to prevent their import , 30 other items to reduce their import, and 10 factories have been identified for the private sector in agricultural products, and there will be facilities during the next stage in establishing productive factories specific to agriculture.
In turn, the Secretary General of the Agricultural Cooperative Union, Muhammad Al-Qahoum, pointed out the importance of honoring to motivate farmers, associations ,agents to market and preserve agricultural products.
