DUBAI: Dubai Customs hosted a delegation from the Environment Agency - Abu Dhabi (EAD), in a collaborative effort to exchange knowledge and best practices. The visiting delegation aimed to gain insights into quality and institutional excellence practices.During the visit, they explored Dubai Customs' initiatives aligning with its 2021-2026 strategic plan, focusing on community protection and sustainable economic development through compliance, facilitation, and innovation.The delegation received a briefing on Dubai Customs' assessment processes for both the Dubai Government Excellence Programme and internal awards, covering categories, standards, mechanisms, recognition, and participation guidelines.Dubai Customs showcased its commitment to gender equality and women's empowerment through discussions on the leading Customs Women Award - Thurya. The award recognises the invaluable contributions of female customs officers to society. The delegation also explored the Pioneering Customs Award, designed to en courage excellence among Dubai Customs employees and create a globally competitive work environment.The EAD delegation commended Dubai Customs for its excellence initiatives and expressed a commitment to continued collaboration to benefit from its experiences. Source: Emirates News AgencyDuring the period January 2-4, the General Foundation for Theater and Cinema in Sana'a is organizing the first national conference for Yemeni theatre, under the slogan 'You are not alone', with the participation of 50 participants from artists, directors and relevant parties.The organization's production director, Nazir Al-Ariqi, confirmed to the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) that all scientific and technical preparations for the conference have been completed, which aims to discuss the most prominent reasons that led to the decline of Yemeni theatre, and to come up with practical solutions to revitalize, support and activate the theater to play its pioneering role.He pointed out that the conference will also discuss the role of theater in advocating the Palestinian cause and raising awareness of national and humanitarian issues.He explained, 'Over the course of three days, the conference will discuss six working papers centered around the importance of having and supporting theater groups in the provinces , and mechanisms for activating school theater in coordination with Education Ministry , in addition to university theater in coordination with Higher Education Ministry , as well as youth theater in coordination with the Ministry of Youth and Sports.'The conference was considered an opportunity to exchange expertise , experiences ,develop plans to develop and support Yemeni theatre.
