A 4.9 magnitude earthquake strikes the islands of Tonga in the South Pacific Ocean

An earthquake measuring 4.9 on the Richter scale struck today off the coast of southern Tonga in the Pacific Ocean.The US Geological Survey said: 'The epicenter of the earthquake occurred 131 kilometers from the Hihifo area, at a depth of 76.5 kilometers,' and there have been no reports so far about human or material damage as a result of the earthquake.Source: National Iraqi News Agency
