An earthquake measuring 3.4 on the Richter scale struck Chlef Province, western Algeria, with no death or material damage recorded.The Algerian Center of Research in Astronomy, Astrophysics, and Geophysics said in a statement that the epicenter of the earthquake is about 3 km west of El Hadjadj in Chlef Province.From time to time, Algeria is exposed to earthquakes, the most violent of which was the 6.8-magnitude earthquake in Boumerdes in May 2003 that killed 2,277 people and caused great material losses and destruction in the area.Source: Qatar News Agency
