Sharjah: TRENDS Research and Advisory has entered into a strategic cooperation agreement with the DIHAD Sustainable Humanitarian Organisation to enhance collaboration in areas of mutual interest, focusing on specialised research, studies, and training programs. The agreement was signed by Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al Ali, CEO of TRENDS, and Khaled Al Attar, Director-General of DIHAD, at the Sharjah International Book Fair 2024, in the presence of department heads and directors from both organisations.According to Emirates News Agency, the agreement aims to conduct joint research projects to increase community awareness and support effective educational programs and sustainable humanitarian initiatives. Dr. Al Ali emphasised that this partnership seeks to strengthen scientific and knowledge-driven fields dedicated to addressing humanitarian issues with effective scientific solutions. This will be achieved through specialised research, situation assessments, and opinion polls to provide actionable outcomes and re commendations for advancing humanitarian efforts.Dr. Al Ali further explained that the agreement aligns with TRENDS' vision to expand its network of strategic partnerships and establish collaborations with regional and international entities. The cooperation covers vital areas such as social, humanitarian, global partnership, and economic research, and involves exchanging experts and researchers to enhance expertise through joint conferences, seminars, and events focused on knowledge.Khaled Al Attar highlighted the essential role of academic research and forward-looking studies in addressing disasters and humanitarian challenges. He emphasised the importance of integrating efforts between humanitarian organisations and research institutions to achieve rapid emergency responses and address weaknesses in operations. Al Attar stated that the cooperation agreement enhances the role of humanitarian diplomacy, a crucial pathway to achieving peace and upholding values of justice and solidarity at regional and gl obal levels.The strategic partnership represents a significant step toward disseminating knowledge and innovation, addressing global humanitarian challenges, and supporting sustainable development efforts.
