Abu Dhabi: EDGE entity TRUST, a leading provider of advanced equipment, technologies, and services for national security and defence forces, has announced a strategic partnership with Leonardo DRS, a prominent provider of advanced defence solutions, to bolster the UAE's defence capabilities.
According to Emirates News Agency, the collaboration between the two entities will focus on the development, production, and long-term support for defence solutions tailored specifically to the needs of the UAE Armed Forces. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by Dr. Jasem Al Zaabi, Vice President of Business Development at EDGE, and Joe Rahbany, Vice President of Business Development in the Middle East for Leonardo DRS.
The MoU signing was attended by notable dignitaries including Dr. Abdulmunem Alshehhi, Chief Operations Officer of TRUST; Bill Guyan, SVP of Business Development and President of International Business at Leonardo DRS; Dennis Crumley, SVP and General Manager at Leonardo DRS Land Electronics; and Cameron Dadgar, Business Development Executive for Air Combat at Leonardo DRS. The signing ceremony took place during the International Defence Exhibition and Conference (IDEX) 2025, held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre from 17th to 21st February.
Under the MoU, EDGE and Leonardo DRS will collaborate in the procurement and systems integration of advanced technologies, particularly focusing on situational awareness systems for vehicle integration. This partnership is designed to support the expanding operational requirements of the UAE Armed Forces and ensure the self-sufficiency of the national defence sector by establishing reliable and advanced defence systems.
This initiative is in alignment with the UAE's vision to enhance local defence capabilities and foster partnerships that introduce cutting-edge technologies to the region. TRUST International Group and Leonardo DRS are dedicated to supporting the UAE's defence sector by promoting innovation and developing localized solutions to adapt to the rapidly evolving defence and national security landscape.
