Philadelphia: Two people were killed and nine others, including three teenagers, were injured in a shooting at Philadelphia’s Fairmount Park on Memorial Day, police announced on Tuesday.
According to Emirates News Agency, all nine individuals injured in the Monday night shooting are currently in stable condition. The deceased victims have been identified as a male and a female, both adults, as stated by a police officer during a media briefing.
The park was reportedly crowded with a large number of adults present at the time of the incident. Authorities have not yet recovered any weapons, and no arrests have been made in connection with the shooting.
Memorial Day, which is traditionally observed on the last Monday of May, is a federal holiday in the United States dedicated to honoring and mourning military personnel who have died in the line of duty.
