China Allocates 580 Million Yuan for Enhanced Flood Control Efforts

Beijing: China has allocated 580 million yuan (approximately US$ 80.73 million) to provincial-level regions to enhance their flood control measures, the Ministry of Finance announced on Friday. This financial support is aimed at bolstering efforts to manage potential flood risks across the country.

According to Emirates News Agency, these funds have been distributed by the Ministry of Finance in collaboration with the Ministry of Water Resources. The allocation targets 29 provincial-level regions, including the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, to strengthen their flood prevention capabilities.

Local governments have been tasked with conducting thorough hazard inspections on essential water conservancy facilities. This includes river and lake embankments, reservoirs, and key sea dikes that play a crucial role in flood control. Additionally, they are encouraged to make comprehensive preparations for flood prevention and control during the upcoming main flood season.
