Cairo: Egypt has announced the postponement of the Grand Egyptian Museum's opening to the last quarter of 2025. Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly revealed on Saturday that the delay from the initial opening date of July 3 is due to the deteriorating security situation in the region.
According to Emirates News Agency, the Grand Egyptian Museum is located near the iconic Giza Pyramids and is considered a monumental architectural and cultural project. It will house the complete collection of King Tutankhamun, displayed together for the first time in history.
Once officially opened, the museum is anticipated to become a major cultural destination globally, representing the heritage of ancient Egypt as well as the aspirations of contemporary Egypt.
