INDEX Signs Strategic Agreement with Egypt’s UPA to Enhance Healthcare Cooperation

Cairo: INDEX Conferences and Exhibitions, a prominent member of INDEX Holding based in the UAE, has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Egyptian Authority for Unified Procurement, Medical Supply, and Technology Management (UPA). This significant agreement was signed during the fourth edition of Africa Health ExCon 2025, hosted at the Egypt International Exhibition Centre.

According to Emirates News Agency, the MoU aims to strengthen strategic cooperation between the two parties in organizing medical conferences and exhibitions. It focuses on leveraging advanced expertise in medical supply chain management and fostering innovation, with the ultimate goal of enhancing healthcare systems and strengthening regional health security. The collaboration seeks to unify efforts to localize medical technologies and expand regional and international integration within the health sector.

The MoU was signed by Amb. Dr. Abdulsalam AlMadani, Roving Ambassador of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean (PAM) for the GCC Region and Chairman of INDEX Holding, along with Dr. Hisham Siteit, Chairman of the Egyptian Authority for Unified Procurement, Medical Supply, and Technology Management (UPA). The signing ceremony was attended by several key figures including Maj. Gen. Dr. Ahmed Amin, Senior Dentist of the Egyptian Armed Forces, and Prof. Karim Mustafa Ibrahim Al-Batouti, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry at Ain Shams University.

INDEX's involvement underscores its dedication to shaping the global health events landscape and contributing to a more innovative and efficient healthcare future. The conference is noted for its growing impact and reach, drawing companies and organizations interested in expanding their presence in Africa's burgeoning market. Educational and awareness programs developed through such partnerships are seen as catalysts for improving health and well-being across the Arab world and Africa.

Amb. Dr. Abdulsalam AlMadani emphasized the strategic importance of collaborating with UPA, highlighting that the MoU paves the way for impactful partnerships that reinforce the UAE's leadership in supporting regional and global healthcare and education initiatives. He stated that the partnership is a model of constructive cooperation between the UAE and Egypt, aligned with the Year of Community objectives and the UAE Centennial 2071 Plan.

Dr. Hisham Siteit expressed that the UPA aims to benefit from INDEX Conferences and Exhibitions' vast experience in managing international events to boost Egypt's institutional capabilities. This partnership is expected to enhance frameworks for healthcare communication and collaboration across the Arab and African regions. He highlighted the significance of adopting global best practices in organizing medical and scientific conferences through such cooperation.

In conclusion, Amb. Dr. Abdulsalam AlMadani announced an educational initiative offering a one-year membership in the International Congress for Health Specialties (ICHS) to all 40,000 participating doctors and speakers at Africa Health ExCon. Valued at approximately US$10 million, this initiative grants access to the Congress's educational programs and lectures on the Waterfalls Global Initiative platform, covering all medical and health specialties.
