Dubai: Dubai Chambers recently hosted a roundtable in Beijing in collaboration with the China Machinery Industry Federation (CMIF) to attract companies specializing in advanced technologies, aligning with the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33). This initiative not only aims to boost cooperation but also supports the expansion of Chinese industrial businesses into Dubai.
According to Emirates News Agency, on the sidelines of this roundtable, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Dubai Chambers and CMIF, witnessed by Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah, President and CEO of Dubai Chambers, and Niansha Xu, Chairman of CMIF. The agreement is designed to enhance bilateral cooperation and strengthen the business ties between Dubai and China. This framework will explore joint opportunities across key sectors, fostering stronger economic relations.
Lootah expressed commitment to bolstering economic ties and advancing collaboration, particularly in the industrial sector, which is expected to open new opportunities for the private sector and contribute to sustainable economic growth. He emphasized Dubai's commitment to supporting Chinese industrial companies in leveraging the city's unique competitive advantages as a leading global business hub.
The MoU outlines that Dubai Chambers will offer comprehensive support to CMIF member companies to aid their establishment and growth in Dubai, helping them maximize the emirate's expansion opportunities. Conversely, CMIF will support companies in Dubai in forming partnerships with their mainland Chinese counterparts. The cooperation will also extend to specialized trade exhibitions, business missions, and the exchange of economic and trade data.
The roundtable brought together officials and representatives from major Chinese companies and industrial associations operating in sectors such as automotive, construction, industrial machinery, agriculture, and water purification. Discussions highlighted the potential for increasing bilateral trade and investment, using Dubai's specialized exhibitions as a platform for Chinese manufacturers to expand both regionally and globally.
Participants also explored Dubai's emphasis on future-facing sectors, including artificial intelligence and robotics. The event underscored the pivotal role of Dubai Chambers in facilitating both Chinese SMEs and major industrial players in utilizing Dubai as a gateway to global markets.
The strategic cooperation opportunities between Dubai Chambers and CMIF, along with its affiliates, were also discussed, aiming to attract more Chinese industrial companies to establish operations in Dubai.
