Dubai: The Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai (IACAD) has announced that its "Thimar Sadaqatikom" initiative successfully supported over 57,000 beneficiaries in the first half of 2025, with total aid surpassing AED26.4 million.
According to Emirates News Agency, the "Sareer Al-Khair" initiative made significant contributions in the health sector by providing financial assistance to 46 patients facing financial difficulties. This support, which included covering treatment costs and offering essential medical equipment, amounted to more than AED6.3 million.
In the realm of education, the "Kursi Al-Ilm" initiative played a crucial role in enabling 174 students from low-income families to continue their education. The initiative provided a total of AED1.88 million in support to help these students achieve their academic aspirations.
The "Tafreej Kurba" initiative focused on alleviating the plight of 54 indebted inmates. By facilitating their release, the initiative aimed to restore family stability, with the total cost reaching AED5.8 million.
Addressing housing concerns, AED1.25 million was allocated to assist Emirati families in securing safe and adequate living conditions, ensuring their well-being and stability.
Beyond these targeted efforts, IACAD's broad range of charitable initiatives included support for People of Determination, food distribution, Hajj sponsorships, mosque construction, and funding for humanitarian and training programmes. These additional initiatives collectively benefited 56,989 individuals, with a total value exceeding AED11.2 million.
Mohammed Musabbah Dhahi, Executive Director of the Charitable Work Sector at IACAD, highlighted the outcomes as evidence of the public's growing trust in the initiative. He emphasized that this trust is built on the initiative's transparency and reliability in directing charitable contributions to those most in need.
