Dubai: The Dubai Centre for Family Businesses, operating under the Dubai Chambers, has unveiled the first comprehensive directory of family business advisors in Dubai. This initiative aims to empower family-owned businesses by providing efficient access to specialized consultancy services across various administrative and operational sectors.
According to Emirates News Agency, the directory is an effective tool connecting family businesses with a total of 56 trusted advisors. This curated list comprises a diverse array of experienced family business advisors, categorized into two distinct groups. The first group includes advisors with extensive practical expertise in advising family enterprises, while the second features certified consultants who have completed the Certified Family Business Advisor (CFBA) and Certified Family Wealth Advisor (CFWA) programs. These programs are delivered by the centre in partnership with the Family Firm Institute (FFI).
Family businesses seeking expert consultancy support can utilize the directory to identify the most suitable advisors across a broad spectrum of management disciplines and sectors. These services include the development of governance frameworks, restructuring, succession planning, mergers and acquisitions, mediation, and commercial dispute resolution. Each advisor's profile in the directory details their professional background, relevant certifications in family business advisory, areas of specialization, and direct contact information.
The centre initiated its Family Business Advisor Certification Programme in 2023 in collaboration with the Family Firm Institute (FFI), a leading organization focused on research, education, and thought leadership regarding family enterprises. This program offers professional certifications for qualified advisors, enhancing the competitiveness and sustainability of family businesses.
In collaboration with FFI, the certification framework strives to create a trusted pool of accredited advisors with whom family businesses can confidently engage. Additionally, family businesses gain access to a range of resources and publications and the opportunity to enroll in FFI's Global Education Network (GEN) certification programs, including the CFBA and CFWA programs. Participants in these programs benefit from comprehensive skills development opportunities designed to better serve their family business clients.
