Sharjah: H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, the Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Deputy Chairman of the Sharjah Executive Council, led a significant meeting of the Sharjah Executive Council (SEC) at the Ruler's Office. The meeting focused on the comprehensive monitoring of the performance of government departments and agencies.
According to Emirates News Agency, the SEC has approved new executive regulations following Decree-Law No. (2) of 2025, aimed at revamping human resource management in Sharjah. These regulations are designed to provide clear guidelines for managing and developing the workforce, ensuring that roles and responsibilities in government positions are well-defined while promoting efficiency, fairness, and job security in alignment with the emirate's governmental objectives.
The regulations introduce a structured approach to how employees and government entities interact, incorporating nine main sections with 130 articles, 33 reference tables, and 30 forms and applications for employee use. These documents cover a broad range of administrative issues, including employment and hiring practices, committee oversight, and guidelines for bonuses, incentives, and benefits. The regulations also elaborate on promotion procedures and address how workplace disputes should be managed.
Further, the regulations lay out rules concerning working hours, leave policies, and workplace behavior expectations. They specify conditions for disciplinary actions and employee termination, concluding with several points that summarize the regulations' intent and scope.
The approval of these new rules is part of Sharjah Government's ongoing efforts to modernize systems and support local talent, fostering an innovative and productive work environment. The SEC also encouraged all government employees in Sharjah to contribute earnestly towards the emirate's vision and overall growth objectives set by His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah.
