Geneva: The UAE has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening international peace and security as essential for the stability of nations and the achievement of sustainable development. Dr. Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Defense, Interior and Foreign Affairs Committee of the Federal National Council, emphasized this during a high-level meeting focused on adherence to the United Nations Charter and international law.
According to Union of OIC News Agencies, Dr. Al Nuaimi and the UAE Parliamentary Division attended the meeting organized by the General Secretariat of the Parliamentary Union of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Member States. This event was held on the sidelines of the Sixth World Conference of Speakers of Parliaments in Geneva, Switzerland, from July 29 to 31, 2025.
The meeting aimed to underscore the significance of various multilateral institutions and diplomatic initiatives in resolving conflicts peacefully. It also highlighted the crucial role that parliaments play in affirming commitment to the core principles of the UN Charter to ensure the maintenance of international peace and security.
