Dubai: The Rashid and Latifa Schools Establishment (RLSE) has announced the opening of scholarship applications for academically outstanding Emirati and expatriate students entering Years 7, 8, and 9 for the 2026-2027 academic year. The applications will commence on 6th October 2025 and are part of RLSE’s broader development plans to enhance Dubai and the UAE’s educational landscape.
According to Emirates News Agency, the RLSE’s initiative aligns with the Education Strategy 2033, launched by H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. This strategy focuses on student-centred learning and aims to support the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33) and Dubai Social Agenda 33, while building an education system that meets Dubai’s future ambitions. Dr. Ahmed Abdullah Belhoul Al Falasi, Chairman of RLSE, emphasized the importance of a high-quality, outcome-driven education inspired by the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
Founded in the early 1980s, Rashid School for Boys and Latifa School for Girls have played a significant role in shaping national figures, with graduates comprising 19% of the UAE Cabinet. Over the years, RLSE has equipped over 2,000 students with skills to excel in various fields including government, entrepreneurship, and the arts.
Dr. Rabaa Al Sumaiti, CEO of RLSE, highlighted the institution’s commitment to an advanced curriculum that integrates academic excellence with national identity. She noted that the exclusive Leadership Diploma offered alongside secondary qualifications focuses on character development, critical thinking, innovation, and leadership skills, aligning with the UAE’s vision of nurturing a globally competitive generation.
The scholarship programme will involve a selective process targeting both Emirati citizens and expatriate residents. Special consideration will be given to applicants with academic excellence and skills in leadership, athletics, entrepreneurship, technology, the arts, public speaking, and Arabic proficiency. Applications will be open from 6 October to 7 November and must be submitted through the school’s official website.
The new RLSE campus, the largest in the Gulf region, spans nearly 280,000 square metres and is designed with sustainability principles and smart systems. It includes separate residential buildings, a dedicated Arabic and Islamic studies facility, a world-class theatre, Olympic-standard sports grounds, advanced AI and e-sports labs, and arts studios, all contributing to a holistic learning experience.
