Iraq-UAE Relations Experience Steady Growth, Says Iraqi Ambassador


Dubai: The Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to the UAE, Dr. Muzaffar Mustafa Al-Jubouri, highlighted the firm and steadily growing relationship between Iraq and the UAE, emphasizing its deep roots and expansion across multiple fields.



According to Emirates News Agency, during a community celebration in Dubai that celebrated Iraq’s cultural and civilizational heritage, Al-Jubouri remarked on the significant advancements in bilateral ties in recent years, especially in political and economic sectors.



Al-Jubouri underscored the importance of high-level exchanges, citing the recent visit of Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani to the UAE, where he met with President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. This visit was portrayed as a testament to the strong relations and mutual understanding on regional and international matters.



The ambassador noted that trade between the UAE and Iraq has reached approximately $40 billion, illustrating a robust economic partnership. He also pointed out that about 50,000 Iraqis live in the UAE, with a similar number holding other nationalities, and nearly 9,000 Iraqi students engaged in educational pursuits in the country.



Furthermore, Al-Jubouri mentioned that nearly 97 weekly flights connect Iraqi cities with the UAE, promoting people-to-people interactions and bolstering economic, tourism, and cultural cooperation.



Al-Jubouri expressed Iraq’s view of the UAE as a strategic partner in the region and conveyed hopes for enhanced cooperation and integration between the two nations in the future.
