Baniyas and Sharjah Self-Defence Triumph in Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Jiu-Jitsu Championship


Abu dhabi: The second edition of the Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Jiu-Jitsu Championship concluded at Mubadala Arena in Zayed Sports City, Abu Dhabi, with Baniyas Jiu-Jitsu Club and Sharjah Self-Defence Sports Club emerging as champions in the Gi and No-Gi categories, respectively.



According to Emirates News Agency, the event wrapped up a season that saw over 2,500 athletes from various divisions participate, highlighting its importance as a competitive and community-focused sporting event in the UAE. Baniyas Jiu-Jitsu Club was awarded the title of Best Academy – Gi for the 2025 season, followed by Al Jazira Jiu-Jitsu Club and Al Ain Jiu-Jitsu Club. In the No-Gi division, Sharjah Self-Defence Sports Club led the rankings, with Al Ain Jiu-Jitsu Club and M.O.D UAE taking second and third places.



The final day included matches in the Under-12 and Kids divisions, concluding a season characterized by technical prowess and increased participation from clubs nationwide.



The championship was attended by several distinguished guests, including Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, Humaid Obaid Abushibs, Sara Awadh Musallam, and others from the UAE’s sports and cultural sectors. Mohamed Salem Al Dhaheri, Vice Chairman of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation, noted the championship’s role as a model of sporting and organizational excellence and a platform for nurturing future champions in the UAE.



The UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation also recognized the championship’s partners and sponsors during the closing ceremony, acknowledging their vital contributions to the event’s success.
