Dubai: H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum attended the final of the second Fazza Falcons Racing Cup at the Lahbab Track, hosted by the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Heritage Center. The event marked a significant occasion in the UAE’s falconry sports calendar.
According to Emirates News Agency, H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid bin Mohammed bin Rashid crowned winners in three categories: Sheikhs, Owners, and Open Public, following six rounds of competition. The event demonstrated advanced technical standards and robust competition among participants.
The event saw the attendance of key figures, including Rashid bin Markhan, Secretary-General of the International Federation for Falconry Sports and Racing, and other board members of the UAE Falcons Federation. They briefed H.H. Sheikh Mohammed on the event’s progress and the qualification system for the Cup.
The ceremony underscored the UAE’s focus on developing falconry sports, deeply rooted in the nation’s heritage. H.H. Sheikh Mohammed highlighted the tournament’s growth and success, attributing it to the support from H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and strategic guidance from H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
Rashid bin Markhan expressed gratitude for the leadership’s support, noting the success and organizational excellence achieved. Bin Markhan emphasized the pivotal roles of H.H. Sheikh Ahmed and Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan in the tournament’s prominence on the national sports calendar.
Khalifa bin Majran, leading the F3 Team, celebrated the team’s achievements in the Sheikhs Category, highlighting their first and third-place finishes. The tournament featured falcons competing for AED2.8 million in prizes, with standout performances across multiple categories.
The event culminated with a commemorative photograph of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed with the winning falconers, celebrating the conclusion of a successful edition of the Fazza Falcons Racing Cup.
