Davos: H.H. Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, met with Mathias Cormann, the 6th Secretary-General of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), during the 56th Annual Meetings of the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland. The meeting witnessed the presence of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Member of the Board of Trustees of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives, and Mohammad bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs, among other senior officials from both sides.
According to Emirates News Agency, during the meeting, H.H. Latifa bint Mohammed emphasized the OECD's role in supporting public policy development and advancing comprehensive and sustainable development. She also highlighted the alignment between the organisation's work and the UAE's vision in development, capacity building, and enhancing economic competitiveness. The discussions focused on expanding cooperation with the OECD in these areas.
H.H. Latifa bint Mohammed pointed out the UAE's dedication to advancing models of government work and improving the quality of public policies. She noted the importance of leveraging international experiences to support sustainable development and improve quality of life, aiming to reinforce economic and social stability.
The meeting explored shared development priorities, including policy development, governance, innovation support, and building resilient economies. The discussions underscored the significance of data and analysis for informed decision-making and the exchange of international best practices in strategic planning and sustainable development.
