Abu dhabi: Over 3,100 individuals have benefitted from the Zayed Authority for People of Determination's comprehensive assessment services in 2025.
According to Emirates News Agency, the Zayed Authority considers these services crucial as they form the foundation for educational, therapeutic, and rehabilitation pathways for People of Determination.
From January to December 2025, 3,107 individuals accessed these services, with 2,052 being new cases and 1,055 undergoing periodic assessments. These services cater to various disabilities, including intellectual and physical disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, and more.
Sidra Saeed Al Mansoori, Director of the People of Determination Services Department, highlighted the role of her department in conducting assessments following medical evaluations. This process leads to the issuance of diagnostic reports and facilitates referrals to specialized centers, ultimately granting beneficiaries cards and parking permits.
Dr. Fadia Ismail Shalabi, a Family Medicine Specialist, emphasized the need for early screening by parents to ensure timely rehabilitation and support. She noted that assessments are tools for empowerment, enabling early intervention to address potential challenges.
Parents of beneficiaries have acknowledged the significance of these assessments in enhancing therapeutic and rehabilitation plans. A multidisciplinary team, including physicians and therapists, ensures the service's comprehensiveness and accuracy.
The Zayed Authority delivers these services across Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, and Al Dhafra, reflecting its commitment to accurate diagnostics and community accessibility. Comprehensive diagnostic reports are essential for the admission and placement of students within the Authority's centers, serving as vital references for education and rehabilitation services.
