Dubai: H.H. Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, First Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Finance, engaged in discussions with Dr. Nawaf Salam, Prime Minister of Lebanon, on the opening day of the World Governments Summit 2026 in Dubai. The summit, themed 'Shaping Future Governments,' serves as a platform for dialogue on governance and development matters.
According to Emirates News Agency, the meeting focused on the robust ties between the UAE and Lebanon, with an emphasis on exploring avenues for enhanced bilateral cooperation in mutual areas of interest. The discussions aimed at fostering developments that benefit both nations and contribute to regional growth.
Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed reiterated the UAE's dedication, under the guidance of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, to furthering Arab cooperation and facilitating dialogue and knowledge exchange.
Dr. Nawaf Salam acknowledged the UAE's significant contributions to international cooperation and its initiatives promoting positive engagement at regional and global levels. He highlighted the summit's importance as a venue for exchanging views on development and governance and enhancing inter-governmental collaboration.
The meeting was attended by key officials, including Abdulrahman bin Mohamed Al Owais, Minister of State for Federal National Council Affairs; Khalifa Shaheen Al Marar, Minister of State; and Fahad Salem Al Kaabi, UAE Ambassador to the Lebanese Republic.
