Abu dhabi: H.H. Sheikh Nahyan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation, and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, along with H.H. Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Development and Fallen Heroes’ Affairs, attended the Open Masters Games Abu Dhabi 2026. The event, which is scheduled to run until February 15th, is being held across various locations in Abu Dhabi.
According to Emirates News Agency, during their visit to the events at the ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi, Their Highnesses toured the competitions, with particular attention to the chess events held in different categories. They praised the competitors’ skills in concentration and strategic planning, which highlights the growing prominence of mind sports.
Their Highnesses also visited the organisers zone, where H.H. Sheikh Nahyan bin Zayed Al Nahyan and H.H. Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan expressed the leadership’s commitment to supporting international sporting activities and enhancing their profile on Abu Dhabi’s sporting agenda.
The organisational standards of the competitions were commended by Their Highnesses, who also lauded the diversity of the event’s programme. This reflects Abu Dhabi’s status as a global hub for hosting multi-sport events and its capacity to offer a competitive environment that aligns with the highest international standards.
