Dubai: His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, attended the final day of the seventh UAE SWAT Challenge at the Al Ruwayyah training ground in Dubai. Speaking on the occasion, H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid praised the performance of all participating teams and the professionalism they demonstrated. He acknowledged Dubai Police’s role in hosting and organizing the event, highlighting the UAE’s ability to host high-quality world-class events.
According to Emirates News Agency, H.H. Sheikh Mohammed emphasized the importance of preparing qualified personnel capable of making sound decisions under pressure and working cohesively as a team. He noted the remarkable performance of all participants and expressed optimism for the event’s continued growth.
Lieutenant General Abdulla Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, accompanied H.H. Sheikh Mohammed during the visit. Sheikh Mohammed observed the final competitions, including the Obstacle Challenge, and interacted with leaders of participating international police and women’s teams. He commended the event’s organization and its role in promoting international cooperation among police and security agencies.
This year’s UAE SWAT Challenge featured 109 teams from tactical and special police units representing 48 countries. Attendees included senior officers and team leaders from six continents, underscoring the UAE’s status as a global leader in hosting major security events.
Recognized as the largest competition of its kind globally, the challenge included five main events: the Assault Challenge, Hostage Rescue, Officer Rescue, the Tower Challenge, and the Obstacle Challenge. These events simulated real-life scenarios requiring speed, strength, precision, and teamwork, enhancing operational readiness and police capabilities in addressing security challenges.
The UAE SWAT Challenge serves as a global platform, fostering knowledge exchange among security professionals and showcasing the latest methods and technologies in rapid response and crisis management.
