UAE and Poland Strengthen Ties in Second Round of Political Consultations


Warsaw: The United Arab Emirates and the Republic of Poland have successfully concluded the second round of Political Consultations in Warsaw, further solidifying their bilateral relationship. The meeting, which took place on February 16, 2026, was co-chaired by Lana Nusseibeh, Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the UAE, and Wojciech Zajaczkowski, Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland. Officials from both countries participated in the discussions.

According to Emirates News Agency, the consultations emphasized the commitment of both nations to enhance their partnership and maintain close coordination on mutual interests. The discussions centered on the growing bilateral relations in sectors such as economic trade, investment, and development. The importance of expanding partnerships in areas like defense, AI, technology, green energy, food security, and consular cooperation was highlighted.

The two sides expressed their approval of the ongoing negotiations
regarding the UAE-EU Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) and encouraged a quick conclusion to the talks. Additionally, regional and international developments were addressed, with a focus on Gaza, the conflict in Ukraine, and the situation in the Horn of Africa. Both nations stressed the importance of dialogue, diplomacy, and multilateral cooperation for achieving peace and stability. They underscored the need to support efforts aimed at de-escalation and resolving conflicts peacefully.

During her visit, Nusseibeh also engaged in a high-level meeting with Radoslaw Sikorski, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland, where they affirmed the significance of bilateral relations and discussed regional developments.

The UAE delegation included Mohamed Alharbi, UAE Ambassador to Poland; Omran Sharaf, Assistant Minister for Science and Advanced Technology Affairs; Rashed AlTeneiji, Director of Economic and Trade Affairs Department; and Hind Al Shraim, Acting Director of Europ
ean Affairs. Polish representatives included Piotr Kozlowski, Director of the Middle East and Africa Department in the Polish MoFA; Kacper Karas, Head of the Gulf Unit; Grzegorz Gawin, CDA of the Polish Embassy in the UAE; Michal Pszczólkowski, Councillor at the Gulf Unit; and Maria Niesluchowska, Advisor to Wojciech Zajaczkowski.
