Ankara: Trkiye’s benchmark stock index, the BIST 100, concluded its midweek session with a slight increase, closing at 14,259.90 points. This marks a 0.23% rise from the previous day’s close.
According to Anadolu Agency, the BIST 100 index began the third trading day of the week at 14,260.82 points and added 32.61 points by the close. Throughout the day, the index fluctuated, reaching a low of 14,154.24 and peaking at 14,532.67 points.
The total market capitalization of the BIST 100 was approximately 14.17 trillion Turkish liras, equivalent to $324.7 billion, with the daily trading volume reported at 293.1 billion Turkish liras or $6.7 billion. On this trading day, 28 stocks on the index saw an increase, while 69 experienced a decline compared to the previous session.
In the commodities market, the price of an ounce of gold stood at $5,003.50, and Brent crude oil was priced at around $68.95 per barrel by 6.20 pm local time (1520GMT). Currency exchange rates showed the US dollar trading at 43.7605 Turkish liras, the euro at 51.7420 liras, and the British pound at 59.2965 liras.
