Moscow: Neither Russia nor China has carried out any nuclear tests, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov stated.
According to Anadolu Agency, Peskov addressed recent allegations from the US, which accused Beijing of conducting a secret nuclear test in 2020. The US has called for a new, broader arms control treaty that would include both China and Russia. Peskov emphasized that reports mentioning tests by Russia and China are baseless, as cited by the state news agency Tass.
Peskov firmly rejected the US claims and highlighted that Chinese officials have also denied the allegations. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian last week dismissed the accusation, stating that the US lacks any factual evidence. Lin accused the US of distorting China’s nuclear policy as part of its political strategy to establish nuclear dominance.
