Abu dhabi: An earthquake measuring 5.5 magnitude struck southern Iran at 03:43 GMT on Thursday, according to the GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences. The epicentre was initially recorded at a depth of 10 kilometres, located at 27.36 degrees north latitude and 52.60 degrees east longitude, according to the centre.
According to Emirates News Agency, the tremor affected regions in southern Iran, though there have been no immediate reports of casualties or damages. Residents in the area experienced the earthquake early in the morning, leading to concerns about potential aftershocks and structural safety.
