Abu dhabi: Sheikh Zayed bin Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE Airsoft Federation, attended the launch of the World Airsoft Games in Abu Dhabi. The event, running from March 24 to 28, features 60 teams from over 20 countries.
According to Emirates News Agency, the event showcases the UAE's expanding role in modern sports on a global scale. During his visit, Sheikh Zayed bin Saif assessed the competition's progress and organization, noting its status as the largest airsoft event in the region. He recognized the professional standards and the efforts of the organizing committees, which ensured the event adhered to international standards.
Sheikh Zayed bin Saif emphasized that hosting the championship aligns with the UAE's strategic vision to position itself as a leading global destination for major sporting events. He highlighted the nation's dedication to fostering modern sports, thereby boosting its international presence and competitiveness.
He also noted that airsoft is a sport that integrates tactical skill, discipline, and teamwork, which appeals to the youth and promotes their engagement in physical activities. This, in turn, enhances their quality of life. Sheikh Zayed bin Saif expressed his gratitude to President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan for providing the foundation for excellence and leadership, as well as to the UAE government for its support in sports development.
