Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi Chairs Judicial Council Meeting in Sharjah

Sharjah: H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Judicial Council, chaired a meeting of the Council held at the Holy Quran Academy in Sharjah. H.H. commended the efforts of the Judicial Council members in strengthening the judicial system, emphasizing their role in safeguarding rights and promoting societal stability.

According to Emirates News Agency, the meeting addressed topics focused on monitoring the quality of judicial performance and enhancing court operations' efficiency. Discussions included developing litigation procedures to achieve accuracy and transparency in judicial work. The Council approved regulatory bylaws aimed at advancing judicial practices and governance through enhancements like the Judicial Inspection Regulation and the Code of Judicial Conduct.

The establishment of specialized prosecution departments was also approved, aimed at improving case handling in line with sector developments. These include departments such as the Public Funds Prosecution, Economic Crimes and Money Laundering Prosecution, and Information Technology Prosecution, among others. This initiative seeks to accelerate procedures and enhance justice delivery.

Additionally, the Council approved an annual forum for female judges on March 10, coinciding with the International Day of Women Judges. This initiative aims to empower women in the judiciary, following the success of this year's forum that highlighted pioneering experiences and strengthened women's roles in judicial development.

On the meeting's sidelines, the Chairman visited the Museum of Celebrated Reciters at the Holy Quran Academy. The museum showcases Quranic heritage and the legacies of renowned reciters from across the Arab world, including Sheikh Abdulbasit Abdulsamad and Sheikh Mahmoud Khalil Al Husary. H.H. explored the museum's exhibits, learning about the reciters' contributions and viewing personal collections and recording equipment.

H.H. also toured the academy's studios, equipped for Quranic, television, and radio production. He was briefed on studio operations and notable Quranic recitations recorded to high artistic and technical standards.
