Sharjah: Athletes from Sharjah Women's Sports (SWS) achieved outstanding results in the fourth stage of the UAE Archery League, held on 4th and 5th April 2026 at the Police Officers Club ranges. The team secured several individual medals and notable team achievements, demonstrating consistent technical skills and well-coordinated efforts across categories.
According to Emirates News Agency, the Sharjah archers showcased their readiness during the qualification rounds on the first day. In the under-18 recurve category (60m), Samia Odiniva emerged at the top, followed by teammates Mona Al Sharaa and Sheikha Al Ali. In the under-21 recurve category, Sara Ali Abdullah clinched first place, with Noura Adel Al Mazmi finishing third. In the women's category, Fatima Al Blooshi led the standings, while Sinehal Divakar secured third place.
In the compound archery events, Amna Al Awadhi triumphed in the women's category, and Marwa Salman Al Balushi claimed second in the under-18 division. Sara Adel Al Mazmi took first position in the under-21 category, highlighting the team's consistent performance.
The second day saw Sharjah archers continue to excel, dominating the under-18 recurve category by securing the top three positions. Samia Odiniva won gold, Mona Al Sharaa took silver, and Sheikha Al Ali secured bronze. In the women's recurve category, Sinehal Divakar captured gold, with Maha Al Hosani taking silver. Sara Ahmed Al Balushi won silver in the under-21 recurve, while Noura Adel Al Mazmi secured third place.
In the compound division, Amna Al Awadhi took gold in the women's category, and Marwa Salman Al Balushi earned bronze in the under-18 category. At the team level, Sharjah Women's Sports Club won gold in the under-18 recurve (60m) team event with the trio of Samia Odiniva, Mona Al Sharaa, and Sheikha Al Ali. The team also claimed bronze in the 70m recurve competition.
Team coach Zakhar Tajayeva noted that the results highlight both positive aspects of the performance and areas needing improvement for future stages. She emphasized that each league stage provides valuable insights into development areas, with ongoing efforts focused on boosting consistency and competitiveness.
These accomplishments underscore the ongoing progress of Sharjah Women's Sports Club athletes, supported by an integrated training system that enhances both technical and mental preparedness, and strengthens the team's ability to compete consistently at the local level.
