Abu dhabi: His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, attended the fifth edition of the 'Make it in The Emirates' exhibition at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC), set to continue through May 7th.
According to Emirates News Agency, 'Make it in the Emirates' is recognized as the largest industrial gathering in the region. This event convenes senior government and private sector decision-makers, industry leaders, entrepreneurs, investors, experts, innovators, and representatives from financial institutions.
His Highness was joined by H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the UAE, and H.H. Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Development and Fallen Heroes' Affairs. Sheikh Mohammed emphasized the industrial sector's role as a strategic pillar in diversifying the national economy and praised efforts toward the National Strategy for Industry and Advanced Technology. He underscored the importance of public and private sector partnerships in strengthening the UAE's industrial base.
Sheikh Mohammed commended the Make it in the Emirates initiative for facilitating collaboration among local and international stakeholders to advance future-focused solutions, especially in advanced technology, artificial intelligence, and life sciences. He highlighted the role of national institutions and Emirati talent in enhancing the UAE's industrial competitiveness, stating that the country shapes its future through the ideas and efforts of its people and institutions.
Also present were Dr. Sultan Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology; Omar Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy and Remote Work Applications; Helal Saeed Almarri, Director General of the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism, along with senior officials. H.H. toured the exhibition, visiting pavilions of ADNOC, International Holding Company (IHC), L'IMAD Holding, Mubadala, Khalifa Economic Zones Abu Dhabi (KEZAD), and EDGE Group to review their latest initiatives and contributions to industrial growth and economic diversification.
The event, hosted by the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, the Abu Dhabi Investment Office, ADNOC, L'IMAD Holding, and organized by ADNEC Group, operates under the theme 'Advanced Industry. Emerging Stronger.' It features over 1,245 companies across 12 industrial sectors, promoting procurement opportunities to localize around 5,000 products in the UAE, with SMEs making up 61% of participants.
