Australia Commits to France-UK Led Mission in Hormuz

Sydney: Australia will join a "strictly defensive" mission led by France and Britain to secure shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, Defence Minister Richard Marles announced. The initiative aims to ensure the safety and security of international trade passing through the vital maritime corridor.

According to Emirates News Agency, Marles emphasized Australia's readiness to support the independent Multinational Military Mission, spearheaded by the United Kingdom and France, once it is formally established.
