Abu dhabi: H.H. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, recently chaired a meeting of the Executive Committee of the ADNOC Board of Directors at the company's headquarters in Abu Dhabi.
According to Emirates News Agency, the meeting focused on various strategic initiatives, including the ongoing construction of the West-East Pipeline project, which aims to double ADNOC's export capacity through Fujairah. Sheikh Khaled directed ADNOC to expedite the project's completion, targeting operational status by 2027, to meet the rising global energy demand.
The committee reviewed ADNOC's progress on key growth projects and acknowledged its capability to increase production responsibly when constraints on exports are lifted. The discussion also highlighted the development of the TA'ZIZ Phase 1 chemicals ecosystem in Al Ruwais Industrial City, emphasizing its role in fostering new domestic value chains.
Sheikh Khaled expressed support for the long-term offtake and feedstock agreements announced by TA'ZIZ at the Make it in the Emirates 2026 event. The collaboration with Alpha Dhabi on a feasibility study to produce up to 14 industrial chemicals in the UAE was also noted, with applications across several sectors.
The TA'ZIZ chemicals ecosystem is projected to produce 4.7 million tonnes of industrial chemicals annually by the end of 2028, making it one of the largest integrated chemical platforms in the Gulf region. Sheikh Khaled emphasized the significance of ADNOC's In-Country Value programme in promoting local business growth and instructed that Made in the Emirates products be prioritized.
Several key figures attended the meeting, including Dr Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, Suhail Mohamed Al Mazrouei, Ahmed Ali Al Sayegh, Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak, and Jassem Mohamed Bu Ataba Al Zaabi.
