Abdullah Bin Zayed Discusses Barakah Plant Attack with Arab Ministers

Abu dhabi: H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, engaged in phone discussions with several Arab foreign ministers regarding the repercussions of a terrorist attack on the Barakah Nuclear Energy Plant. The attack, executed by a drone that infiltrated the UAE from the western border, targeted an electrical generator outside the plant's inner perimeter, causing no injuries or radiation safety issues.

According to Emirates News Agency, Sheikh Abdullah held talks with Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani of Qatar, Ayman Safadi of Jordan, Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah of Saudi Arabia, Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah of Kuwait, Nasser Bourita of Morocco, Dr. Badr Abdelatty of Egypt, and Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani of Bahrain. The ministers condemned the attack, labeling it a dangerous escalation and a violation of international law and the United Nations Charter, highlighting the potential risks to civilians and regional security.

The discussions emphasized the UAE's right to respond to such attacks to safeguard its sovereignty and the safety of its citizens, in line with international law. Sheikh Abdullah expressed gratitude for the solidarity shown by these countries, reassuring the safety of all residents and visitors in the UAE.

The conversations also focused on enhancing international cooperation and efforts to promote sustainable peace and stability in the region.
