Dubai Future District Fund Embraces PropTech with Camber Creek Investment

Dubai: Dubai Future District Fund (DFDF) has announced its commitment to Camber Creek, a venture capital fund specializing in property technology (PropTech), which manages nearly $1 billion in assets. This strategic investment highlights DFDF's ongoing strategy to support high-conviction, sector-specific fund managers who consistently deliver returns and long-term value to their portfolio companies.

According to Emirates News Agency, DFDF's Managing Director, Nader Albastaki, emphasized that Camber Creek exemplifies the type of fund manager they aim to support. He praised their disciplined, high-conviction approach that focuses on concentrated portfolios and continued investment in top-performing companies. Albastaki noted that this approach aligns with DFDF's mandate to back sector-focused funds, in harmony with Dubai's D33 Agenda, while ensuring robust portfolio construction and returns for the Dubai ecosystem.

Camber Creek's team brings over 60 years of real estate industry experience and more than 30 years of venture investing expertise. Their disciplined process for analyzing, beta-testing, and scaling companies, in collaboration with their network, provides a significant market advantage. A distinctive feature of their model is the Beta Labs programme, where prospective portfolio companies are introduced to strategic Limited Partner (LP) partners for direct commercial feedback before investment, ensuring decisions are grounded in market insights.

Jake Fingert, Managing Partner at Camber Creek, expressed enthusiasm for working with DFDF, which enhances their ability to support promising companies and deepen relationships across the Middle East. He highlighted the alignment between DFDF's focus on strengthening Dubai's economy through innovation and Camber Creek's mission of supporting technology companies transforming real estate and construction.

Over the past decade, Camber Creek has supported the growth of over 47 proptech companies, achieving successful exits, including the sale of TaskEasy to WorkWave and Building Engines to JLL. Their active portfolio boasts category leaders like Bilt Rewards, VTS, Flex, Measurabl, and Notarize.

The partnership grants portfolio companies access to DFDF's regional network, offering pathways for US-based proptech innovators to scale in the Middle East. Founded in 2011, Camber Creek is an institutional venture capital firm focused on transforming the real estate industry by investing in and scaling businesses that enhance efficiency, streamline operations, and introduce new capabilities across the real estate lifecycle. Their model prioritizes depth of engagement, targeting Series A and above opportunities for companies ready to scale.
