China’s Power Capacity Shows Significant Yearly Growth

Beijing: China's total installed power-generating capacity reached 3.99 billion kilowatts (kW) by the end of April, marking a 14.2 percent increase compared to the previous year, as revealed by official data on Monday.

According to Emirates News Agency, from January to April, the country's solar power capacity saw a notable increase, rising 26.2 percent year-on-year to 1.25 billion kW, as reported by the National Energy Administration (NEA). The wind power sector also experienced substantial growth during this period, with its installed capacity increasing by 22 percent, reaching 660 million kW.

During the first four months of the year, China's total power consumption surpassed 3.33 trillion kilowatt-hours, reflecting a 5.4 percent increase from the previous year.
