FlyVaayu Launches Maintenance Facility at Ras Al Khaimah Airport

Ras al khaimah: FlyVaayu, the UAE's first dedicated freight carrier, has unveiled its AMO CAR 145 facility at Ras Al Khaimah Airport. The launch was officiated by Sheikh Engineer Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Department of Civil Aviation, Ras Al Khaimah, and witnessed by key figures including Manish Seth, CEO of RAK Airport, and other dignitaries.

According to Emirates News Agency, Sheikh Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi expressed pride in this development, highlighting it as an indicator of Ras Al Khaimah's expanding capabilities in servicing maintenance needs for both local and international operators at RAK Airport. The facility underscores the strength of the emirate's infrastructure and its dedication to supporting efficient international operations.

Manish Seth, CEO of Ras Al Khaimah International Airport, remarked on the growth prospects for RAK Airport in both passenger and cargo operations. He emphasized that the opening of the CAR 145 facility would provide all operators at RAK Airport with access to line maintenance facilities, significantly enhancing operational efficiency and safety.

Esmaeel Hassan Alblooshi, Director-General of the RAK Transport Authority and Acting Director General of the Department of Civil Aviation, Ras Al Khaimah, noted that the facility enables FlyVaayu to offer maintenance services to its fleet and third-party operators. This expansion supports airline activity, job creation, and economic growth in Ras Al Khaimah.

Vijay Arumbakkam, CEO and Accountable Manager of FlyVaayu, expressed confidence in undertaking more MRO activities at RAK Airport, aiming to develop a world-class MRO ecosystem. FlyVaayu is currently the only CAR-145 approved maintenance organization at the airport, authorized for scheduled maintenance checks up to specific flight hours, cycles, or months.

Looking ahead, FlyVaayu plans to establish additional aviation maintenance facilities, including workshops and a full Airbus A320 Base Maintenance facility. These expansions will bolster local aviation capabilities, create job opportunities for UAE Nationals, and strengthen Ras Al Khaimah's position as an emerging aviation maintenance hub.

FlyVaayu operates a fleet of two A320P2Fs from RAK Airport, positioning Ras Al Khaimah as a regional cargo hub. The carrier offers capacity to various stakeholders on routes connecting Asia, Africa, Europe, and the Middle East.
