FNC First Deputy Speaker Meets Oman’s Shura Council Chairman at OIC Conference

Baku: Dr. Tariq Humaid Al Tayer, First Deputy Speaker of the Federal National Council (FNC), engaged in discussions with Sheikh Khalid bin Hilal Al Maawali, Chairman of the Shura Council of the Sultanate of Oman, during the 20th Session of the Conference of the Parliamentary Union of the OIC Member States (PUIC) in Baku, Republic of Azerbaijan.

According to Emirates News Agency, the meeting was also attended by the FNC delegation participating in the conference, which included several FNC members and Mohammed Murad Al Blooshi, UAE Ambassador to the Republic of Azerbaijan. The discussions emphasized the strong fraternal relations between the United Arab Emirates and the Sultanate of Oman, focusing on the need to enhance parliamentary cooperation and coordination on mutual interests.

Both sides underscored the significance of parliamentary diplomacy in bolstering bilateral cooperation, sharing legislative expertise, and improving coordination on regional and international issues. This is particularly relevant in the context of regional and international parliamentary engagements.

Additionally, the discussions reviewed the agenda topics of the conference, stressing the necessity of reinforcing consensus among member states on these issues. The objective is to support efforts aimed at consolidating security and stability, advancing sustainable development, and addressing shared challenges that affect the region and the world.
