Rome: TRENDS Global, an affiliate of TRENDS Group, is set to initiate a strategic dialogue centered around intellectual and research themes in Rome from 5th to 11th July 2026. The initiative includes three significant international conferences and discussions, as well as partnerships with Italian research institutions, underscoring its commitment to expanding its presence globally and establishing itself as a platform for knowledge-based conversations and insights.According to Emirates News Agency, the events will be hosted at prominent locations such as the UAE Embassy to Italy, the Italian Chamber of Deputies, and the Italian Senate. These conferences, organized in collaboration with the Italian Milton Friedman Institute and the Italian AISES Foundation, will feature a diverse group of officials, parliamentarians, academics, researchers, and experts from the UAE, Italy, and several other European countries.The programme will also comprise six research visits to various think tanks and academic instituti ons. Additionally, two Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) will be signed between TRENDS and the Milton Friedman Institute and the AISES Foundation. These agreements aim to enhance research and knowledge cooperation, focusing on strategic studies, artificial intelligence, technology, and innovation, facilitated through TRENDS' virtual office in Italy.The scientific programme is structured around three strategic pillars: geopolitical balances in the Middle East, political-religious currents' impact on European societies, and the ethical and legislative considerations linked to the advancement of artificial intelligence and emerging technologies.Awadh Al-Breiki, Senior Researcher and Director General of TRENDS Global, highlighted that this research initiative in Rome is a significant step in TRENDS' international intellectual collaborations. He emphasized that hosting these events at the UAE Embassy and the Italian Parliament showcases the growing importance of think tanks in fostering international dialogu e and informed policymaking.He further stated that these events embody TRENDS' dedication to building cooperative bridges between research and academic institutions, offering forward-looking insights and practical solutions to regional and global challenges, while promoting the role of scientific research in advancing development and stability.The programme's first event is an international symposium titled "Crisis in the Middle East: UAE and Italian Perspectives", organized in collaboration with the Italian Center for International Studies (CeSI) and hosted by the UAE Embassy in Rome. This symposium will explore regional developments and their consequences for international security and stability.The second event will be a strategic conference titled "The Repercussions of the Muslim Brotherhood's Presence in Europe", held at the Salvadori Hall in the Italian Chamber of Deputies in partnership with the Milton Friedman Institute. This conference will delve into the group's political, social, and security impacts within Europe, alongside challenges related to integration and citizenship. An MoU will also be signed between the involved parties.The final conference will be an international meeting at the Italian Senate (Giustiniani Palace - Zuccari Hall), titled "Governance of Artificial Intelligence and Ethics of Emerging Technologies", organized in cooperation with the Italian AISES Foundation. This conference will discuss cooperation opportunities between Europe and the Gulf states in developing legislative frameworks for advanced technologies and will culminate in the signing of an MoU to initiate collaborative research pathways.
