Shurooq and Minor Hotels Partner to Manage Sharjah Collection

Sharjah: The Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq) and Minor Hotels have entered into a strategic partnership that will see Minor Hotels manage and operate the Sharjah Collection, a unique portfolio of nature-led, heritage-inspired retreats across the emirate. This partnership marks a significant step in enhancing the global presence of the Sharjah Collection while maintaining its commitment to eco-tourism and cultural authenticity.

According to Emirates News Agency, the agreement, which was signed at the House of Wisdom in Sharjah, brings Minor Hotels' global hospitality expertise to the management of seven distinctive retreats that highlight Sharjah's diverse landscapes. These retreats, rooted in environmental consciousness and cultural engagement, will now benefit from Minor Hotels' extensive experience in managing luxury and destination-focused hospitality properties.

Minor Hotels, a leading hospitality group with over 640 hotels across 66 countries, will leverage its operational expertise and international distribution networks to enhance the Sharjah Collection's performance and guest experience. This collaboration will allow Shurooq to focus on further developing and creating sustainable tourism destinations within the emirate.

The Sharjah Collection, consisting of Al Badayer Retreat, Al Faya Retreat, Kingfisher Retreat, Moon Retreat, Najd Al Meqsar, Al Rayaheen Retreat, and Nomad, offers a variety of experiences that emphasize environmental awareness, cultural authenticity, and wellness. Each retreat is designed to complement its natural surroundings, offering guests a unique opportunity to engage with Sharjah's diverse ecosystems and heritage.

H.H. Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairperson of Shurooq, emphasized the importance of hospitality as an expression of place, stating that the partnership with Minor Hotels will expand the collection's international reach while preserving its core values. Ahmed Obaid Al Qaseer, CEO of Shurooq, highlighted the significance of this partnership in enhancing the collection's operational model and international competitiveness.

Amir Golbarg, Chief Operating Officer of Minor Hotels Middle East and Africa, expressed pride in contributing to the next phase of the Sharjah Collection by bringing international expertise to a portfolio deeply connected to the emirate's landscapes and heritage. He emphasized the distinctiveness of Sharjah's hospitality proposition, characterized by authenticity, culture, and a meaningful form of luxury.
