Caracas: Venezuelan authorities announced that the death toll from the two earthquakes that struck the country on June 24 has increased to 3,535, with nearly 18,000 people left homeless.According to Emirates News Agency, Jorge Rodríguez, President of Venezuela's National Assembly, reported that the latest figures show 16,740 individuals have been injured, and 17,854 others have been displaced due to the earthquakes. The seismic events, measuring 7.2 and 7.5 in magnitude, occurred just seconds apart.The United Nations has confirmed its ongoing efforts to enhance relief operations in collaboration with the Venezuelan government. UN Spokesperson Stéphane Dujarric stated that search and rescue, engineering, and medical support teams are still active in the affected regions.
