Abu dhabi: H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, held separate telephone discussions with Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani, the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, and Ayman Safadi, Jordan's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, to address the latest regional developments.
According to Emirates News Agency, the conversations focused on the recent Iranian aggression, including missile attacks targeting Jordan and the assault on the Qatari tanker "Al Rekayyat" near the Strait of Hormuz. These incidents have escalated tensions in the region, prompting discussions on ensuring the freedom of navigation in regional and international waters.
During these calls, H.H. Sheikh Abdullah reiterated the UAE's solidarity with Qatar and Jordan, emphasizing the nation's commitment to supporting efforts that bolster the security and stability of these countries and protect their citizens. The talks also covered mutual interests concerning relations between UAE-Qatar and UAE-Jordan, exploring avenues for cooperation and strengthening ties to support shared objectives.
